Our handy dandy man, Steve, is a stud amongst the studs as he poses in front of our store in progress. We will keep you posted on construction and our open house. Have a super weekend.

I’m probably out of order in my gardening/plant metaphors, but I am lucky to have gotten this far with them!! Regardless. We have our support system in place, and we’re going for some deep rooting!

This was a LOOOONNNNNG week! I have been in and out of the shop, battling flies, kicking ideas around with Jess, as well as directing myriad of contractors and other people, hobnobbing with the neighborhood.
I shoulda taken pictures of my painted windows! hahaha! We posted flyers and painted on the windows to give folks an idea of what’s coming. People just keep poppin’ in off the street! I am LOVING it! I am sure there will be a few…errrmmm…colorful characters to contend with, but all in all, I feel great about the neighborhood! You should see people’s eyes light up once they “get” the concept! It is so gershdern exciting! I’m like Mint! I can hardly contain myself!

Next week will be a HUGELY important week for us! Our handyman starts Monday, he’s gonna let us help and teach us a few things…He is also going to be a furniture consignor, so he is looking forward to getting the space perfect! The electrician will be in Tuesday and the very first Crafting Call will be Thursday night! Wow! Hopefully we will have lots of pics to share! We have things pretty well figured out, so I am relieved. We have a game plan of sorts, the flies are dead, and this weekend we can start some fun things…like agreeing on style and color, picking out track lighting, go to The Fractured Prune, check out carpet and some other miscellany.

OHHH! We have a logo! Or graphic, or something to that effect. I don’t know who saw the pseudo storefront on twitter, but no one commented. Then again, I may have simply DREAMT I put it on twitter. Now, we are leaning toward the top parts only. I don’t want our windows obscured as is in this mock up. Ryan looked at my “signs” and bam! Nailed it in the first try! (Top left panel) I like how he carried things to the right for the second window. I am not sure yet what wording we will have up there, tho.

Basically, our colors are Sage, Terracotta and Bittersweet Chocolate. They go nicely with the exterior of the shop, and all the copper. Not sure yet on what we are doing with the interior colors. I don’t want to much of anything because it will be so colorful with all YOUR stuff!!

Ok, kids….I need a break and some iced tea!
Don’t forget the Crafting Call!!! Thursday May 28th 6-9 upstairs at Appalachian Brewing Co (ABC) Harrisburg. Can’t wait to meet you all!

Scoobie-doobie-DOOOO!!!
~~~Dawn
