Over the Fence
I met our neighbors today. John and Gary are the forces behind the MidTown Arts Center. That place is gonna be GAWWWWGEOUS! Gary offered me a tour, but I was waiting for my landlord, then insurance agent, and then contractor. I so want to see the whole shebang. Soon, I am sure. The Stage on Herr is in the works, It’s like going in a side door. (of course it feels that way, because, well, you sorta are.) I was STUNNED when I walked in! The vestibule hides this AMAZINGLY HUGE bar and stage area. They already have sculpture and artwork near the entrance way, and the blocks of carpet flooring is so colorful. Funny, because that is exactly what Jess had suggested for some of our flooring. I was so awestruck by the size of it. The bar is to the left with a sensuously curved feel and the stage is back and to the right. There was this old time-y sexiness to it. It wasn’t “in your face” in any way, shape, or form. Again, I simply got this “sexy” feel from it. I wish I could have absorbed more, but like I said, I had business to handle and must sheepishly admit, more than a bit intimidated. Do NOT get me wrong! The guys were extremely nice, but boy, do I feel like the poor dumb kid with nuttin’ but a wing and a prayer! Jess and I are jumpin’ in, regardless!
