Scarfing It Granny Style
Crochet 101

Granny squares are the perfect “little” project; they are small, portable, fast to make, and are fantastic for using up yarn scraps. They use easy stitch combinations and allow for creativity because different yarns and colors can all be utilized. Granny squares can be used to make all sorts of projects such as bags, afghans, baby blankets, belts and scarfs.

This is a begninners class and everyone learns on a different speed and level. You will be learning chain stitch and double crochet. If you have never crocheted before, we would like you to come early to class. Please plan on arriving at 5:30 to get started and please notify the HoPo when you sign up that you are a “crocheting newbie”. If you are a new crocheter and you do not pickup the skills right away, do not get frustrated. You may call and set a time with Jessica for a refresher at no cost. Crocheting should be a way to creatively relax. There is no frustration allowed.

This class will be paired with hot tea and cookies. Only fitting right?

Bring the following Materials With You To Class:
Medium Weight Yarn (different colors) Lion brand yarn is easiest to learn with. Buy your yarn with this symbol indicated:

yarn medium
Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm) I prefer metal hooks
Yarn Needle (optional)

You will learn to create your squares, make the square larger if needed, connect your squares and how to begin and end your squares.
