Biography

I learned to weave baskets about 20 years ago at several in-home teaching parties and have been hooked ever since!  I wove pretty sporadically when my kids were little, but for the past 8 years or so have been weaving regularly!   I only took four classes to learn the various basket structures, and the rest I learned through books, patterns, practice, and lots of trial and error!

I love most things crafty…I can crochet, am learning to knit on my own, and dabble in book-making.  But for me, basket-weaving has been the most rewarding and satisfying craft I’ve ever practiced!  I love that you can take a tangled mess of coiled reed, and in just an afternoon, create a piece of custom work that is tremendously beautiful and utterly useful, and at a fraction of the cost of buying one!

I live in rural Juniata County….I’m married and have three kids, ages 21, 16, and 14.

We have two awesome dogs, one wild ferret, and take care of the family farm complete with beef cattle and a couple dozen sheep!
