Alterations and Notions with Megan Slaboda

Are your pants too long?  Your favorite skirt has a broken zipper?
Your winter coats button has fallen off again!  Come learn how to fix
your clothes yourself!  During this 2 1/2 hour class, we will be
focusing on replacing zippers (regular and invisible), hemming, and
replacing buttons so that they will never fall off ever again (or at
least in a long, long time)!  Bring your alterations and lets see what
we can do.

List of bring to:
needles/ thread to match alteration
scissors
6″ ruler
pins
regular/invisible zipper (7″-9″ coats and clark brand can be purchased
at Joann’s)

Megan Slaboda Bio

Graduated from F.I.T (Fashion Institute of Technology) NYC in 1999 with a degree in Fashion Design specializing in Tailoring.  Worked in the fashion district for 8 years, for labels such as Nine West, Kenneth Cole, New York and Co., and Geoffrey Beene.  Megan and her sister Rachel, independently own Mamma Made Designs, a childrens clothing company.  She, her husband Jedidiah, and son Peter, moved to Harrisburg in December 08 and Megan where she continues to share her passion for tailoring and design through teaching.

    I’m really interested in learning how to use my sewing machine to insert zippers- do you think that is something Megan would be going over?..
